What to check on the label

  • Whether every ingredient has its own milligram line, or several are grouped in a 'blend' with one total.
  • How many capsules or scoops make a serving, and how many servings the container holds.
  • Whether the ingredients you care about appear at amounts you would accept on their own. The list below shows each figure.

Amounts are per label serving as recorded in the catalog and are not a recommendation. Testing status reflects what the brand lists. Nothing here is medical advice.

This score is our editorial judgment, not a scientific standard. We combine published evidence, dose, price, transparency, and consumer signals into one composite: this is our method, not a peer-reviewed clinical rating. A higher score means a product does better on the factors we weight, not that it is medically proven to work.

Why this scored this way

This AG1 (Athletic Greens) AG1 Pro scores 7.3, making it a mid-tier product with both strengths and weaknesses. It delivers 75mg of Zinc, above the studied range of 10–30mg with grade A evidence (strong human trial data). At $3.30/day it's among the more expensive options in Multi/greens.

What drives the score up

  • Dose-evidence score of 7.7 shows decent alignment with trial doses.
  • Tested by independent lab (transparency 8.0).
  • Community score of 8.2 with positive consumer feedback.
  • Zinc is dosed at the full research level with grade A evidence (strong human trial data).
  • Creatine is dosed at the full research level with grade A evidence (strong human trial data).

What drags it down

  • Zinc (75.0mg is 500% of the 15mg trial dose) is well above the trial dose. More is not always better.
  • No public lab certificate available for independent verification.
  • At $3.30/day it's on the expensive side.

Why you'd choose it

  • You want Zinc from a AG1 (Athletic Greens) product.
  • You want a tested by independent lab product.
  • You want doses that align with published research.

Why you might skip it

  • You want a product with a publicly available CoA.
  • You want a standard dose of zinc (this product is well above it).
  • You want a cheaper option (this is $3.30/day).

Important to know
CreatineDon't pay extra for 'HCl', 'buffered', or 'Kre-Alkalyn', monohydrate is chemically identical after absorption. Look for Creapure® certification.
HMBFree acid form absorbs faster but costs more.
ZincChronic >50 mg/day causes copper deficiency.

Editorial notes

A creatine + HMB + zinc-carnosine upgrade bolted onto the AG1 Next Gen base formula, explicitly marketed at muscle-preservation for GLP-1 users and 'healthy aging', the 5g creatine dose is a legitimate research-aligned amount, but buyers are paying a $20/month premium over AG1 Next Gen for ingredients most could get far more cheaply as standalone creatine monohydrate.
