Study
Assessing tolerability and physiological responses to 17α-estradiol in a human pilot dosing study
PRIMARY
2023
Summary Can 17α-estradiol safely improve human health or lifespan? Show / hide ↓
Researchers gave a small group of adult men 17α-estradiol, a form of estrogen, and monitored them for side effects and body changes. The treatment appeared generally tolerable over the short study period. It caused some expected changes in hormone-related measures, but the study was too small and brief to test longer life, disease prevention, or meaningful improvements in health.
What this means for you: This is not evidence to buy or use 17α-estradiol for longevity. It is an early safety study, not proof that the treatment helps people live longer or healthier lives.
