6 Eye Health Protocols
NEW BIOMARKER PLAN: Blueprint says Bryan Johnson is measuring 15 eye-health biomarkers with tear-film sampling; no personal result or controlled comparison is reported.
On 4 September 2026, Vanessa Gibbs published a Blueprint guide to six eye-health practices: exercise, UV400 sunglasses, a diet containing lutein, zeaxanthin and DHA, regular eye examinations, cardiovascular risk control, and breaks from screens. The article says Bryan Johnson is measuring 15 eye-health biomarkers, including osteoprotegerin, osteopontin, interleukins, TNF-α, MMP-9, TIMP-1, TGF-β, SOD, GDF-15 and β-NGF. It describes placing two paper strips on the eye to collect tears for molecular analysis. The stated targets include inflammation, tissue degradation and regenerative signalling. The article says Blueprint will compare eye-health protocols and share what it learns. It provides no baseline values, assay validation, sample size beyond Johnson’s single case, prespecified endpoints, follow-up duration, control period, or results. The recommendations cite general ophthalmic and exercise evidence, but this post is not a new trial. The tear collection method is described with a warning to use an ophthalmologist. This item records a planned biomarker programme, not evidence that any listed practice changed Johnson’s eye health.
We’ll share what we learn.
No relevant critic piece or new PubMed/preprint in the 2–9 September window supplied an RCT or meta-analysis that tests this planned eye protocol. No ingredient grade change follows.
