Study
Time-restricted feeding and circadian metabolic regulation
Summary Can limiting daily eating hours improve metabolism and health? Show / hide ↓
This review summarized research on time-restricted feeding, eating within a set number of hours each day. It included studies in people and laboratory animals, rather than running a new experiment. Animal studies often found better blood sugar control, body weight, and daily body-clock rhythms when eating happened earlier. Small human studies showed some possible benefits, but results were mixed and some benefits may have come from eating fewer calories overall.
What this means for you: Eating earlier and avoiding late-night meals may be reasonable, but this review does not show that time-restricted eating extends life or beats ordinary calorie control. It is not a strong reason to buy a special diet product.
