Comparative biology of aging

Summary Why do some animals age much more slowly than others? Show / hide ↓
This was a review of earlier research, not a new experiment. Researchers compared aging, lifespan, and age-related diseases across many animal species. They found that aging rates differ widely, and that body size, genes, environment, and evolution may help explain those differences. No people took part, and the review did not test a treatment or product.
What this means for you: This helps scientists understand how aging works, but it does not show that any supplement, diet, or treatment will extend human life. You can ignore it when choosing what to buy or do.
