Anti-Aging Scientist Insists NR Is the Superior NAD+ Precursor, Is There Any Truth to His Claims?
Summary Are NR supplements really better than NMN for slowing aging? Show / hide ↓
This was a review of research on NR and NMN, two supplements the body can use to make NAD+, a molecule involved in energy production and cell repair. It did not enroll one new group of volunteers; it assessed earlier human trials, along with laboratory and animal research. Those studies generally found that NR can raise NAD+ levels in blood, while NMN can do so too, but few studies directly compared them. Neither supplement has been shown in people to slow aging or extend life. Findings from animals and cells do not directly apply to humans.
What this means for you: There is no good proof that NR is superior to NMN for helping people live longer or stay healthier. You can ignore strong marketing claims and avoid buying either supplement for anti-aging purposes unless better human evidence appears.
