NCT06133634 tests intermittent treatment with the flavonoid fisetin as a senolytic in 70 adults aged 65 and older. The sponsor is the University of Colorado, Boulder. The trial tests whether fisetin improves vascular endothelial function and reduces aortic stiffness, and probes the mechanisms behind any effect. Phase 1/2, registered as a pilot efficacy trial with healthy older volunteers of both sexes.

The study started on 25 September 2023. The registry lists primary completion as 31 March 2026, so the treatment and measurement phase should be finished. The overall status is active, not recruiting, and the registry record was updated on 25 September 2026. No results have been posted to the registry and we found no published results paper as of 28 September 2026.

This is the trial to watch for the first controlled human vascular data on fisetin as a senolytic. The existing human fisetin data is small: pilot trials at low doses. A positive endothelial function result with a hard endpoint like aortic stiffness would be the strongest human senolytic signal so far for this molecule. Until results publish, fisetin stays at evidence grade C: human use is supported by pilot data only.

No results posted yet. Registry status: active, not recruiting; last update 25 September 2026.
Critic notes

Fisetin failed to extend lifespan in the 2018 NIA Interventions Testing Program mouse study. Positive vascular results here would support endothelial claims, not lifespan claims. Watch for the funding source and whether the primary endpoint changes between registry and publication.
