Independent replication attempt of HBOT telomere effects: thesis

This 2022 thesis tried to repeat an earlier study suggesting hyperbaric oxygen therapy, breathing oxygen under high pressure, lengthens telomeres. Telomeres are protective DNA caps that tend to shorten as cells divide and age. The researchers gave adults the treatment and measured their telomere length before and afterward. The attempted repeat did not provide clear evidence of a meaningful benefit. The work was a thesis rather than a large, established clinical trial.

What this means for you: This is not good evidence that hyperbaric oxygen therapy slows aging or lengthens telomeres. You should not buy the treatment for longevity based on this study alone.
