Epigenetic clock evidence for rejuvenation following therapeutic plasma exchange

Summary Can replacing part of blood plasma make people biologically younger? Show / hide ↓

Researchers measured DNA age markers, often called epigenetic clocks, in adults receiving therapeutic plasma exchange. This treatment removes some liquid blood, called plasma, and replaces it with albumin fluid. After treatment, some of the clocks gave younger age estimates. The study measured blood-based markers, not whether participants lived longer, felt better, or had healthier bodies.

What this means for you: This is an early sign, not proof that plasma exchange reverses aging. It is not a reason for healthy people to buy or seek this costly medical treatment outside approved care.
