Summary Does NAD+ in our blood change with age or lifestyle? Show / hide ↓

Researchers measured NAD+, a molecule cells use to make energy and maintain themselves, in whole-blood samples from people in the general population. They compared blood NAD+ levels across different ages and lifestyle patterns. The levels did not differ meaningfully with age or lifestyle. This was an observational study, meaning it measured people’s existing levels rather than testing a treatment.

What this means for you: This study gives no clear reason to buy NAD+-boosting products based only on age or lifestyle. It also does not prove that NAD+ supplements never help, because blood levels may not reflect levels inside specific tissues and the study did not test treatment benefits.
