Study
Senolytics for cognition and mobility in older adults at risk for Alzheimer's disease
PRIMARY
2025
Summary Can senolytic drugs improve memory and movement in older adults at risk for Alzheimer’s? Show / hide ↓
Researchers tested senolytics, drugs intended to remove worn-out cells, in older adults at increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease. They gave participants the treatment and checked their memory, thinking skills, walking, and movement. The study was small and short, so it could only provide an early signal. It did not clearly show that the treatment improved cognition or mobility.
What this means for you: This is not enough evidence to buy or take senolytic products for Alzheimer’s prevention or better movement. Larger and longer studies are needed, and these drugs can have side effects.
