What to check on the label

  • Which precursor is named. NMN and NR are different molecules and are not interchangeable milligram for milligram.
  • Whether the milligram figure is per capsule or per serving of several capsules. The catalog records per serving.
  • Whether a certificate of analysis (CoA) is published for the batch you buy. The catalog only records whether the brand lists one.
  • Added ingredients (resveratrol, TMG, quercetin) are listed with their own amounts below. Read them separately.

Amounts are per label serving as recorded in the catalog and are not a recommendation. Testing status reflects what the brand lists. Nothing here is medical advice.

Evidence gates dose: the evidence grade sets the ceiling, and the dose decides how much of that ceiling the product reaches. Value = inverse of price-per-trial-dose-day. Community = mean sentiment of external reviews. Safety caps applied after weighting.

This score is our editorial judgment, not a scientific standard. We combine published evidence, dose, price, transparency, and consumer signals into one composite: this is our method, not a peer-reviewed clinical rating. A higher score means a product does better on the factors we weight, not that it is medically proven to work.

Why this scored this way

This MitoQ MitoQ NAD+ Dual Action scores 6.2, making it below the site average. It delivers 150mg of NR, inside the studied range of 100–1000mg with grade B evidence (promising human data, not yet comprehensive). The quality transparency (6.0) is limited by the lack of third-party testing. At $1.80/day it's among the more expensive options in NAD+ booster.

What drives the score up

  • Dose-evidence score of 6.1 shows decent alignment with trial doses.
  • Community score of 8.8 with positive consumer feedback.
  • NR is dosed at the full research level with grade B evidence (promising human data, not yet comprehensive).

What drags it down

  • Resveratrol (150mg is 30% of the 500mg trial dose) is significantly under-dosed.
  • No third-party testing, which caps the quality transparency.
  • Quality transparency of 6.0 is below the site average.
  • At $1.80/day it's on the expensive side.

Why you'd choose it

  • You want NR from a MitoQ product.

Why you might skip it

  • You want third-party verified purity.
  • You want a product with a publicly available CoA.
  • You need a full trial dose of resveratrol (this product under-doses it).
Question 1

Does the molecule work?

The science behind each active ingredient, independent of which brand sells it.

Niacin

The original cholesterol vitamin. Raises HDL beautifully, improves outcomes not at all — two giant trials killed the lipid theory.

2 landmark RCTs · US: Vitamin / former Rx (Niaspan discontinued) · EU: Permitted (dose limits)
NR

The NAD+ precursor with the strongest safety file and EU approval.

2 landmark RCTs · US: GRAS, NDI accepted · EU: Authorised Novel Food (Commission Reg 2020/16)
Resveratrol

The famous red-wine molecule; longevity claims have outrun the human evidence.

3 landmark RCTs · US: Dietary supplement · EU: Authorised Novel Food (2016/1866)
PQQ

Promising cofactor for mitochondrial biogenesis; human evidence remains thin.

1 landmark RCT · US: Dietary supplement · EU: Novel Food authorised

Full ingredient breakdown

Every active in this formula, its declared dose per serving, the dose used in the primary human trial, how much of that trial dose this product delivers, and the evidence grade for the ingredient itself.

Percentages are dose per serving ÷ primary trial dose. Below 50% means the formula is unlikely to reproduce the trial outcome for that active. Grade A = multiple large human RCTs. Grade F = no human evidence. How grades work. Full glossary →

Important to know
NiacinGram doses cause flushing, liver stress, and glucose elevation. Nicotinamide does not flush but does not move lipids either. High doses are a drug — treat them that way.
NRAlmost all commercial NR uses licensed Niagen® from ChromaDex. If a product doesn't say Niagen, ask why.
Resveratrol"Resveratrol" products that don't specify trans-isomer content are unmeasurable in practice. Cis-resveratrol is biologically inactive.
PQQPQQ is very expensive to synthesise, so cheap products may under-deliver. Look for third-party COA.

Editorial notes

Two-capsule daily dose. 500 mg niacinamide plus 150 mg NR, 150 mg resveratrol from Japanese knotweed, and 20 mg PQQ disodium salt. Sold via GNC and mitoq.com since April 2026.
